Search Engines

Search engines have the main purpose to index thousands of millions of web pages. Once you look for a word or a phrase, the search engine scans automatically the entire database where it has the stored pages indexed and it returns to you as a result a list containing the most relevant results for that search.

The only criteria the number of pages found and their relevance depend on are the capabilities of the used search engine.

Search engines appeared somewhere in the early 90’s when Alan Emtage, a student at the McGill University in Montreal created the first search engine like too. It was called Archie. Its purpose was to search through the information available on the FTP servers. The files on these servers were available for anyone, but one couldn’t use them unless knowing the exact address of the server and of the file. Archie looked through this database and gathered lists of files for each server. It was used by people to match phrases and characters in order to take them to the server address the file they were looking for was on.

Archie is now an old method, but its creation was the first step in the search engine rally that is going on now. As the public grew more and more aware of the existence of the internet, the need for a search tool became visible.

So, first there were some software robots, using the concept of spidering to index the web, following links from one site to the other and saving the text from all visited websites in a database.

Between 1994 and 1995 three important search engines appeared: Lycos, WebCrawler and AltaVista. At about the same time Yahoo! appeared but Yahoo! is not a search engine. Yes, it has a search engine function, but yahoo is firstly a director or data and articles, providing different services as email and hosting. Recently yahoo has signed contracts with other search engines as Google for both of them to provide more search results.

Today search engines are in a continuous competition. There are thousands of search engines, but just a few big ones. This small group of top search engines is responsible for more than 90% of online searches.

But the question arises: if search engines are free and they cam be used by everyone what keeps them financially alive? The answer to the question is very simple: advertising and traffic. The more visits they have, the bigger the traffic then the more money they can make providing promotion space.

Search engines are competing to develop the best formulas and algorithms to evaluate the web pages accordingly to the keywords provided.
If someone is looking for a top position in search engines, then he has to be sure that his site is projected in such a way that search engines would find it easily, being relevant for the keywords and phrases the owner wants it to be found by.

The biggest well known secret in generating wealth in the internet based business or e-commerce is Traffic. Everybody knows it; every site wants it and every site needs it. The point of websites is to be visited and viewed. Many elaborate designs, money and countless hours of developing a site to make them beautiful and attractive are utilized. Without traffic, it is for naught.

With traffic comes a potential customer which basically means sales which in turn means profit. While many sites have collapsed in the past with the downturn of many internet based business, many smaller sites have generated good money by concentrating on a certain niche and some subniches.

This is a reason why e-commerce site laser target certain groups of people and drive them to their site to showcase their sites and products. Precision marketing is essential so that you could count on all the traffic on your site as potential customers.

Using Money to Make Money

It’s a common business notion that if you want to make money, you have to spend money. One good way of spending money for business gain is through advertising. Advertising brings in the people because through advertising, they know that there is such a company or product in existence. With the right type of advertising, you can see the spurt of traffic growth to your site. With a high volume of traffic, even if only a small portion or percentage turns out to be buying customers it is still a good average of profit generating income.

Right now, there is no other advertising scheme that would be worth every cent than using Google’s Adwords. The surge in popularity of Google’s Adwords is very evident as you can see so many sites sporting this ad scheme.

In using Google's Adwords, you pay a certain fee depending on the number of keywords your ad is keyword sensitive to. Each time a person does a search in Google, the keyword or keywords use generate ads in the side of Google which are generated by the keywords they have assigned for their ads.

This method laser targets the traffic a site wants for their site. This also ensures that you are readily visible in the first page of a search result. Paying Google for this ad scheme ensures that your target group of people sees your ads. You drive your laser targeted traffic to your site which provides for their needs and wants. You can also be sure that you can meet their demands and needs.

Aside from Google, you can also be featured in their other search networks, these includes sites like, AskJeeves, AOL Search and Netscape. These sites also show Adwords ads that react to searches done by visitors. There are also content networks, non-search engine sites that feature Google Adwords, which will also carry your ads. But this is subjected to the niche the site features. Your chosen keywords will determine which content network shall feature your ad. The frequency of your ad shall also be determined by your allowed budget.

Laser Targeting your Traffic

To get a good number or estimate of the traffic to buying customer ratio it is good to laser target your traffic. Knowing that your traffic are all potential customers and are interested in your products and company provides you with a more accurate statistics. This will show you how effective your utilizing of Google Adwords is.

Drive laser targeted traffic to your site by using keywords or keyword phrases for your Goggle Adwords that pertains to your company and to your products. There are many online internet tools that can help you in choosing keywords and keyword phrases that are currently in demand that could help drive laser targeted traffic to your site.

With your Google Adwords ad, you are ensured that every click to your ad is a potential customer that is precisely looking pr interested in what you have to offer. Make sure that your Google Adwords ad has the right keywords so that you can drive you're laser targeted traffic to your site.

Using Google Adwords to help boost the drive to increase laser targeted traffic will prove to be very beneficial as many other companies can attest to. The benefits are high with the cost relatively justifiable.

Search engines are the vehicles that drive potential
customers to your websites. But in order for visitors to
reach their destination - your website - you need to
provide them with specific and effective signs that will
direct them right to your site. You do this by creating
carefully chosen keywords.

Think of the right keywords as the Open Sesame! of the
Internet. Find the exactly right words or phrases, and
presto! hoards of traffic will be pulling up to your front
door. But if your keywords are too general or too
over-used, the possibility of visitors actually making it
all the way to your site - or of seeing any real profits
from the visitors that do arrive - decreases dramatically.

Your keywords serve as the foundation of your marketing
strategy. If they are not chosen with great precision, no
matter how aggressive your marketing campaign may be, the
right people may never get the chance to find out about it.
So your first step in plotting your strategy is to gather
and evaluate keywords and phrases.

You probably think you already know EXACTLY the right words
for your search phrases. Unfortunately, if you haven't
followed certain specific steps, you are probably WRONG.
It's hard to be objective when you are right in the center
of your business network, which is the reason that you may
not be able to choose the most efficient keywords from the
inside. You need to be able to think like your customers.
And since you are a business owner and not the consumer,
your best bet is to go directly to the source.

Instead of plunging in and scribbling down a list of
potential search words and phrases yourself, ask for words
from as many potential customers as you can. You will most
likely find out that your understanding of your business
and your customers' understanding is significantly
different.

The consumer is an invaluable resource. You will find the
words you accumulate from them are words and phrases you
probably never would have considered from deep inside the
trenches of your business.

Only after you have gathered as many words and phrases from
outside resources should you add your own keyword to the
list. Once you have this list in hand, you are ready for
the next step: evaluation.

The aim of evaluation is to narrow down your list to a
small number of words and phrases that will direct the
highest number of quality visitors to your website. By
"quality visitors" I mean those consumers who are most
likely to make a purchase rather than just cruise around
your site and take off for greener pastures. In evaluating
the effectiveness of keywords, bear in mind three elements:
popularity, specificity, and motivation.

Popularity is the easiest to evaluate because it is an
objective quality. The more popular your keyword is, the
more likely the chances are that it will be typed into a
search engine which will then bring up your URL.

You can now purchase software that will rate the popularity
of keywords and phrases by giving words a number rating
based on real search engine activity. Software such as
WordTracker will even suggest variations of your words and
phrases. The higher the number this software assigns to a
given keyword, the more traffic you can logically expect to
be directed to your site. The only fallacy with this
concept is the more popular the keyword is, the greater the
search engine position you will need to obtain. If you are
down at the bottom of the search results, the consumer will
probably never scroll down to find you.

Popularity isn't enough to declare a keyword a good choice.
You must move on to the next criteria, which is
specificity. The more specific your keyword is, the greater
the likelihood that the consumer who is ready to purchase
your goods or services will find you.

Let's look at a hypothetical example. Imagine that you have
obtained popularity rankings for the keyword "automobile
companies." However, you company specializes in bodywork
only. The keyword "automobile body shops" would rank lower
on the popularity scale than "automobile companies," but it
would nevertheless serve you much better. Instead of
getting a slew of people interested in everything from
buying a car to changing their oil filters, you will get
only those consumers with trashed front ends or crumpled
fenders being directed to your site. In other words,
consumers ready to buy your services are the ones who will
immediately find you. Not only that, but the greater the
specificity of your keyword is, the less competition you
will face.

The third factor is consumer motivation. Once again, this
requires putting yourself inside the mind of the customer
rather than the seller to figure out what motivation
prompts a person looking for a service or product to type
in a particular word or phrase. Let's look at another
example, such as a consumer who is searching for a job as
an IT manager in a new city. If you have to choose between
"Seattle job listings" and "Seattle IT recruiters" which do
you think will benefit the consumer more? If you were
looking for this type of specific job, which keyword would
you type in? The second one, of course! Using the second
keyword targets people who have decided on their career,
have the necessary experience, and are ready to enlist you
as their recruiter, rather than someone just out of school
who is casually trying to figure out what to do with his or
her life in between beer parties. You want to find people
who are ready to act or make a purchase, and this requires
subtle tinkering of your keywords until your find the most
specific and directly targeted phrases to bring the most
motivated traffic to you site.

Once you have chosen your keywords, your work is not done.
You must continually evaluate performance across a variety
of search engines, bearing in mind that times and trends
change, as does popular lingo. You cannot rely on your log
traffic analysis alone because it will not tell you how
many of your visitors actually made a purchase.

Luckily, some new tools have been invented to help you
judge the effectiveness of your keywords in individual
search engines. There is now software available that
analyzes consumer behavior in relation to consumer traffic.
This allows you to discern which keywords are bringing you
the most valuable customers.

This is an essential concept: numbers alone do not make a
good keyword; profits per visitor do. You need to find
keywords that direct consumers to your site who actually
buy your product, fill out your forms, or download your
product. This is the most important factor in evaluating
the efficacy of a keyword or phrase, and should be the
sword you wield when discarding and replacing ineffective
or inefficient keywords with keywords that bring in better
profits.

Ongoing analysis of tested keywords is the formula for
search engine success. This may sound like a lot of work -
and it is! But the amount of informed effort you put into
your keyword campaign is what will ultimately generate your
business

There are so many success stories you will hear about businesses making it good in the internet. The troubling thing is, there are maybe a tenfold or even a hundredfold of stories contradictory to theirs. Many have unsuccessfully launched a business enterprise that is internet based but only a handful shall succeed.
Is this through luck? That is even more remote. It takes good business sense and a lot of help and team effort. Most importantly, it is the eagerness to succeed and the determination to learn and the willingness to invest in a lot of hard work and some money.
The Very Basic
Like Neo, traffic is “The One”. Without traffic, all your effort would just go to waste. Every business needs customers, without them you wouldn’t have anyone to sell your products to. In the internet world traffic is the walk in customer. The more traffic you have the more people would be able to sell your products to.

But like any business that’s in every corner building or in the mall, not everyone that goes in will buy, but the greater of number that do come in to browse your merchandise, the greater number of people that will buy your products. It is a simple and known fact.
But, how do you get traffic, traffic large enough that could make a small percentage of eventual buyers enough to make a good profit. Many big companies generate traffic of tens of thousands a day and a measly ten to fifteen percent actually buys, but that small percentage is enough to provide them with good business.

Many of these success stories get their traffic from paying others. Yes that’s right; you have to spend money to make money. Advertising is the key. The more people that knows that your site exists; the more people would of course go to your site, that’s common sense.
While there are many ways that can get you advertising for free, this do not generate the same high volume as those methods that are getting paid. These paid advertisements include advertising schemes by Google and Yahoo.

The Value of Searches
The search and will be the easiest and fastest medium in finding what a person needs in the internet. Search engines have been very popular because they provide a vital service to many people. They are free and easy to use. With this popularity, they get many visitors and clicks that they are the most common sites that people go to. It is easy to understand why so many companies would pay to advertise with these search engines.

Search engines provide information to the millions of users that they have each day. They provide links to many sites that a user may be looking for. If your sites link pop up in the high ranks of the search results page, you get a great chance that they will go to your site. While search engine optimization is a cheaper and low cost way to get your site a high rank, paying for advertisements will ensure that you will be on the top ranks.
When you pay for your advertisements, it is like paying for your traffic. This may sound like not such a good idea, but the payoffs would tell a different story. When you pay for your traffic, you are guaranteed of a consistent traffic flow to your site. You will never go with an empty sales day.

Paying for your Traffic
Usually, you will be charged with the number of hits a link gets when your ads is clicked, this is called pay per click. For some search engines, you will be charged with the number of times your ad shows up when a certain keyword or keyword phrase is searched. It is imperative that you have good keyword content in your ad. There are many tools that aid you in using the right keyword for the right moment.

All the money you spend in paying for your traffic will not be for naught. You will get an impressive boost in traffic which will also result to a great boost in your sales figures. Paying for your traffic would be a really good idea and you will get all the benefits it has to offer.

Putting up a company would of course require a lot of things, to get straight to the point, you need a capital. To make money requires money as well. But of course, with the versatility the internet offers, there are many ways you could find that could help optimize the potential of your site or business in generating traffic.

While there are ways to jumpstart your traffic flows, many sites don’t have the resources that others have to generate more traffic for your site. Well, you don’t have to spend a cent; all you need is the proper mindset and a lot of eagerness. You also must have the drive and perseverance to do hard work and research to generate more traffic for your site.

How sweet it is to have more traffic for your site without spending a single cent. Now it’s a sure thing that many sites have articles that offer tips and guidelines in how to generate traffic using only free methods. Because it is possible, you don’t need to speed a single cent, it may take time, to say honestly, I’m not going to beat around the bush with you. You get better chances by paying for your advertisements, but at least you get a fighting chance with some of these free methods I’m about to tell you.

Take advantage of online forums and online communities. The great thing about forums and online communities is that you can target a certain group that fits the certain demographic that you are looking for. You can discuss about lots of things about the niche that you represent or offer. Another great advantage is that you know what you are getting into and you will be prepared.

With online communities and forums you can build a reputation for your company. Show them what you are made of and wow them with your range of expertise about the subject, with that you can build a reputation and build trust with the people in your expertise and knowledge.
You can also make use of newsletters.

Provide people with a catalog of your products and interesting and entertaining articles. If you make it really interesting and entertaining, more people will sign up for your newsletter and recommend it to other people. The more people who signs up for your newsletter, the more people there will be that will go to your site increasing your traffic.

Another great idea is trading links with other sites. You don’t have to spend a cent. All you have to do is reach an agreement with another webmaster. With exchanging links, the efforts both sites do will benefit both sites. Every traffic that goes to the site could potentially click on the link of your site and visit your site as well. This works well especially when both sites feature the same niche.

Write articles that could pique the attention of people that have interest in your product. Try writing articles that will provide tips and guides to other aficionados. Writing articles that provide good service and knowledge to other people would provide the necessary mileage your traffic flow needs.

Many sites offer free submission and posting of your articles. When people find interest in your articles they have a good chance of following the track by finding out where the article originated. Include a link or a brief description of your company with the article and there’s a great probability that they will go to your site.

Write good content for your site. Many search engines track down the keywords and keyword phrases your site uses and how they are used. It is not a requirement that a content should be done by a professional content writer. You could do your on but you have to make content for your site that is entertaining as well as informational. It should provide certain requirements as well as great quality.

Generally, internet users use search engines to find what they are looking for. Search engines in return use keyword searching in aiding their search results. With the right keywords, you could get high rankings in search engine results without the costs.
All of these methods and more will drive more traffic to your site for free. All it takes is a bit of effort and extended man hours. Learn all you can about the methods depicted here and you will soon have a site with a great traffic flow without the usual costs that come with it.

There always seems to be a catch when so many websites offer to help us get 'free traffic'. When we look at the bottom line, the buck always seem to stop with us. Well, as far as I'm concerned free should be free! Doesn't anyone speak English anymore?

I always laugh when I see a lot of sites offering us 'free' traffic, I feel like sending them a dictionary with the word 'FREE' underlined. The good news is that I have in the real meaning of the word 'Free', found a method that does work. (and , No, you won't have to send me a dictionary!)To put it more in perspective,we will have to spend something to get free traffic, but not money.

We have to spend some of our time to get it, but that is a lot better than giving away our money to strangers who we never see. What do we have to do then to get free traffic? In a word its' Articles'. You have heard the stories about how article marketing will help you get free traffic right? Well, its not an urban myth, it is correct.

Article marketing basically works around the clock, well, its daylight somewhere in the world isn't it? The fact are that out of one hundred readers that read an article, about ten per cent of them will click back to your website. Further to that , about two percent of them will buy something on your site.

You can take my word for it, writing an article is easy. True, all it takes is a few words to get your message across, about 350-400 or so and the job is done. If you go by the industry stats, then the figures I have mentioned above are pretty close.Believe it or not, there are thousands of people in cyberspace who would like your opinion on your related topic or hobby. You have a lot to offer, believe me, no one has ever had your particular experience in life. So share yourself around, make some new friends by sharing your advice, we could all use some new ideas.

by Tamas MaddoxSearch engines use software programs knows as spiders to crawl the web to build the search engine databases. Web pages are retrieved by these programs and analyzed. To get your pages on the top of the search engines you need to first get them visited by these search engine spiders.

Your job is to design your site so the spiders will find it and come back often, this will get your pages listed so they will be found when people search for them. Search engines make their decisions based on programmed priorities. They don't care how accurate or well-written the content on your site is, because they don't know.

Search engines rank the significance of your web page content by counting the number of other websites that link to your site and measuring the quality of the sites that link to your site. A high ranked website like ArticleCity referring to a blog post that you wrote will pull your blog higher up on Google's search results.Search engines do care that you have unique, fresh content. Unique, new content is like spider food, this is what they look for.

Create good, original content, update it regularly and keep adding to it. Search engine spiders care about the structure of your web pages, they give extra weight to keywords placed as titles of pages and titles of paragraphs. Spiders compare text in the title tag against the content on the page, if the two are not related this will decrease your ranking.

Search engine spiders have a tough time with dynamic sites. Some spiders get stuck because they can't see the page. Search engine spiders like a mix of copy, keywords, text and links. You want to have 200-500 words of copy per page, well labeled images, easy to navigate links and keyword rich title tags. Always have a up to date site map. The spiders look for site maps so they can index all the pages in a site.

A site map makes it easier for them to get to the deeper site pages. If the search engine spiders can not find all the pages on your site then no one will see them. It also helps to use keyword links at the bottom of the pages to connect relevant pages and give the spiders something to follow.Spiders collect links from each page they visit, and later follow those links through to other pages. In this way, they essentially follow the links from one page to another.

Files known as robots.txt files give spiders directions on how to index your site, including any directories that you may decide are off limits to the search engines.

Search engines don't respond to changes overnight, it might take a few weeks or more to see the results of your efforts reflected in search engine results.By Tamas Maddox, visit (http://newseotools.biz/) SEO Tools, also visit (http://newseotools.biz/blog/) Getting Indexed By Search Engines Spiders.

There is a very efficient, yet often times overlooked method of generating cheap website traffic and boosting sales online. It is by using affiliate marketing and joint ventures. In a lot of cases it is sometimes better to concentrate on those things that some people often overlook, it can mean taking our share of a lot more free traffic.

Affiliate marketing is relatively easy to understand. We have the option to sell someone else's service or products and receive a piece of the action or we can ask others to sell our own products and offer them a similar deal. The second option,of course uses one of the best business practices around the practice of using 'leverage'.

Now what are the benefits of affiliate programs and why do they generate cheap website traffic? First of all, if you use Pay per sale model of bonuses, you do not spend any money for advertising and traffic generation until the actual sale takes place. You sell first and you pay after. This way you do not have to set up an advertising budget and can start your business at a very low cost paid for setting up your affiliate programs.

These affiliate programs are quite beneficial to us in many other ways, one is that we can direct thousands of visitors to our website and achieve many sales. It is also advantageous because we know that our affiliate partners will only want to send 'bona fide' traffic to us.

One of the other benefits of affiliate programs is that we can find more joint-venture partners with which to do business with. This will, once again, have the effect of increasing out leverage in our Internet business. Not only that, but it will once again generate more cheap website traffic.

Plus, such joint ventures can help you to build up easily valid and high quality links to your web site and consequently attain higher positions in search engine ranking; which in its turn is another great source for targeted and cheap website traffic. As you see, affiliate programs can be a good source of cheap website traffic, even though they have been a bit forgotten in a whirlwind of modern SEO techniques.

Getting free web traffic to your site can be a great way of promoting your business, particularly if you are on a shoestring budget. There are quite a few different ways to generate free traffic. Although you can get heaps of free traffic in a variety of ways, there can still be a hidden cost. That hidden cost is your time and dedication, you have to be prepared to spend a little of both to achieve a good result.

There is one good and even Biblical principle to go by when hunting for free traffic: if you want to receive, you should also give. You want free traffic, give away free stuff! Fill your site with great, informational content and articles, your visitors can get for free. Provide free software or videos for download. Find something people would be interested in and give it away for free. Write articles for other sites and link there. It's one way to get free traffic and people will keep coming back for more.

Now, doubtlessly one of the best ways of getting free traffic lies through search engines and search engine submissions. This way is very time consuming, requires much dedication, but it can be well worth the effort. To obtain such traffic you have to be able to optimize your web site properly for search engines to find it and submit it to the directories. You also need to be able to build up its ranking positions, because most sites found outside of the three first pages of search results never get any visitors from search engines.

It is important for your site to have great informative content, combined with some great keywords and continuous link building. This is something that you always have to be mindful of and continue your efforts of site optimization so you can continue to be ahead of the pack.

Even in the offline world, marketers know that gaining new consumers is much more expensive than working with those who return again and again. The same is true about generating free traffic. Once you get your visitors, try to do all you can for them an you will find they will want to come back. Build up your mailing list. It is the easiest way for keeping in touch with them, informing them about your novelties and enticing them to come back and revisit your site.

There are always more ways being developed to continue to get free web traffic. It is mainly a good idea to keep your eye on the ball and continue to monitor which methods work best for you.. It used to be that you could actually get more website traffic by simply throwing a bunch of good keyword search phrases on your pages and in the HTML "tags." Of course search engines got better, and so the "experts" began to tell us that we just needed high-quality content. "Build it and they will come," became the operating theory of many.Of course, it just wasn't true. You still needed to optimize the pages.
After all, if your page was about ultralight backpacking, how would the search engines know that if you didn't use the phrase a few times on the page? And if you preferred to call it "fastpacking," there was never a way for all those searchers of "ultralight backpacking" to find your page - even if it was exactly the content they wanted.
So optimization still matters. But when the search engine algorithms changed again they began to place less emphasis on "on site" optimization. You still need those keywords on the page, but this is no longer enough. You also need to have other sites linking to yours, to show that you are important. Links have become very important if you want more website traffic from search engines. The type of link matters though. Reciprocal links - where you trade with another site - are no longer of much value. Search engine algorithms have been adjusted for the fact that sites started trading irrelevant links just to boost rankings.
Only one-way unpaid links are considered a true "vote of confidence" by the search engines, and so these are what you need. Now, some experts still claim that you get links by having great content. People read your page, like it and so link to it. That would be nice, but it isn't common at all. In fact, there are several things wrong with this theory.
First, how do the readers find your page to begin with, so they can then decide they like it enough to link to it? If you have no incoming links, the search engines ignore you, so how does anyone find the page?
Secondly, if some visitors do make their way to your pages, will they have websites to link to you from? Most internet users either don't have a website or they barely know how to create a link. Finally, serious webmasters are hesitant to link to other sites too often now.
Why? They don't want to link to possible competition for starters.
But the bigger reason is that a given page can only has just so much "voting power" according to search engine algorithms, so owners of sites like to divide it up in beneficial ways - like by linking to their own pages and sites. So getting incoming links is the way to get more website traffic, but they are hard to get.
What can you do? You can pay for traffic, but with many sites this is impractical. If your site makes ten cents per visitor and you pay fifty cents to get one, you are just throwing your money away.
Now, before I answer the question of how to get more traffic, let me add an encouraging note. Contrary to what some are saying, good content is not irrelevant now. Don't listen to the skeptics.
I recently read an opinion piece by a webmaster who said the old idea of "building a great website with great content" in order to get traffic was "foolish nonsense." It isn't.What do we want when we search for things online? We want great websites with great content, right? That is exactly what the search engines are trying to point us too.
The fact that they don't do it perfectly doesn't mean they aren't getting better at it. So as they get continue to improve, you want to have the kind of site that they are looking for.
If you're thinking long term, have good content. Finally, one of the best ways I have found to generate more website traffic is with simple articles like this one. Submit it to a few article directories, and you'll get some readers.
If they like it, some will even take it and use it on their websites, creating valuable one-way links. That helps with your search engine rankings. Meanwhile, some readers will like it enough to want more, and they'll click that link in your resource or "about the author" box at the end of the article.

Very few of the number of the blogs online are credible and effective. There are few qualities of the bloggers that distinguish their blogs from the other ordinary blogs. Effective bloggers do not assume them as special practices but they do them habitually. The following are five of those habits of highly effective bloggers.

1.Proactive blogging
Effective bloggers do not just blog for the sake of blogging. Before getting their hands on blogging, they create certain goals. Their goals resemble getting page-rank within a certain time, provide good traffic to some website, create awareness among people over an issue, raising charity for some cause, etc., Their goals are proactive for which they blog and are soon met with success.

2.Creating useful content for visitors
Effective bloggers are very concerned about their content. Most of the effective bloggers provide useful information for the visitors. At the same time, they do not replicate the content of any other person. When a blog has effective content it is very likely for it to attract effective traffic. This helps the blogger to accomplish his goal very soon.

3.Consistent postings
Effective bloggers have a consistent schedule to blog. This schedule varies with blogger and can be on daily, weekly or monthly basis. They never infringe their schedule and never make their visitors wait for them to post. Consistent posting helps them to make their blog interesting as well as effective.

4.Balancing between blogging and personal life
Effective bloggers do not commit to over blogging and make it effect their personal life. They maintain a good balance between personal life and blogging. This also helps them to refurbish their attitude towards blogging. Thus, they never get tired of blogging.

5.Maintenance of the blog
Effective bloggers do not stick only to the consistent posting in terms of maintaining their blog. They make sure that their blog has every potential feature to keep it appealing to their visitors. However, they do not compromise with their goal of creating a good blog.

Being an effective blogger is not an easy task. But it is not an impossible one. Cultivating the habit of effective blogging may take some effort and time. But once we make it, effective blogging is a routine job.

Blogs are all the rage these days. If you haven’t caught up to the trend yet, perhaps it’s time you learn how to start a blog.I believe you know how to operate a computer and have been exposed to the World Wide Web. If you’ve reached this sentence and still don’t know what I’m talking about, you’re going to need to acquaint yourself with the Internet. If, however, you do understand what I’m talking about and you want to learn how to have a blog, then you’ve come to the right place!

Step 1 On How To Start A Blog: Open An Account.
The first thing you have to do is to open an account. There are a lot of free accounts available for those who are just starting out. I highly recommend livejournal.com, blogspot.com and wordpress.com.
You can browse through their sample blogs or check to see whether their services and style match your preferences. During this time, you are also encouraged to check out other blogs. Learn from them and be inspired.

Step 2 On How To Start A Blog: Choose A Topic.
Most blogs have niche topics. Personal blogs serve as online diaries. There are blogs dedicated to fashion. Some talk only of cars. Others choose to talk about food and dining. The topic is up to you. While you don’t necessarily have to limit yourself to a specific subject, doing so boosts the chance of your blog being noticed and read by people who share the same interests as you.

Step 3 On How To Start A Blog: Make Friends.
At this point, you should have started writing entries on your blog already! Find blogs that catch your interest and leave a comment on their entries. Make sure to leave a link to your own blog as well, so they can check what you’re all about. Making friends introduces your blog to more bloggers and readers out there. No sense starting a blog with no one to read it, right? If you want to know how to start a blog on the right foot, you must begin with yourself. You will eventually move on to larger circles and share more of yourself with the rest of the blogging world.
